Mongolia Rally 2008

Team Vanishing Point

On the 5th July 2008 our team with be taking part in the Mongolia Charity Rally.  We will be driving our Long wheel base, 1988 Mitsubishi Pajero several thousand miles, from London to Ulan Baatar, the capital of Mongolia.  This crosses some of toughest terrain in the world. From mountains to deserts.  We are doing all this for charity.  We are actively looking for companies and individuals to sponsor us.  We are aiming to raise at least £5000 and a small amount to cover part of the costs.  In return Team Vanishing Point will advertise you company on our vehicle.  The Mongolia Rally is organized by 'Go Help' Which is a UK Charity that is dedicated to helping other Charities make the most of their fundraising activities. www.gohelp.org.uk

The Mongolia Rally receives worldwide press coverage and press coverage is growing every year.

The main charities we are supporting are:-

CDPF

The main goal of the CDPF is to provide a number of essential programmes and activities to support children and youth in difficult circumstances. The Foundation works for children in Mongolia who suffer from poverty, disease, injustice and violence.

CDPF will benefit from the donation of our vehicle on arrival in Mongolia

Save the Children UK began working in Mongolia in 1994. Their programmes expanded rapidly and they quickly became recognised as a key agency for the support and protection of children. They now have operations in aimags right across Mongolia. Current work largely focuses on education and child protection. In 2005, they received an award from Mongolia’s Human Rights Commission and were invited to join a council that consults with parliament on public policy issues.

The main focus of their work is on long-term development, but in 2000 they launched an emergency programme to bring food and other aid to families in crisis during the harsh winter. Maintaining emergency preparedness is now an ongoing part of their work in Mongolia.
